Learn the Piano

Why learn with me?

I am a very experienced professional musician and teacher, teaching pupils of all ages and abilities. Having been very well trained myself, I very much enjoy being able to draw on my musical knowledge and experience to instruct and inspire my pupils.

I teach the piano from beginners’ level to around Grade 5.

I hold a current Enhanced DBS Certificate.

I treat every pupil as an individual and tailor my teaching methods to suit each person. I like to incorporate some aural training and theory of music into music lessons to encourage a good, general musical knowledge. My pupils start to read music from the very first lesson.

1. Teaching for over 12 years

I have been teaching piano to pupils of all ages from my home for the last 12 years and teaching students at the University of Bath since 2014.

2. Excellent pass rates

My students have achieved a 100% pass rate in their music exams and many have passed with very high grades.  I can prepare them for either ABRSM or Trinity exam boards.

3. Learn for Fun

I am equally happy to prepare students of all ages for exams or to teach those who simply want to learn for fun.

Tuition Fees

I offer competitive prices. Lessons can be paid for, either in advance or immediately after each lesson, by cash or bank transfer.

Since Covid, most of my lessons have been currently taking place online, using either Skype or FaceTime. This is proving to be a very successful and popular reducing travel for busy parents and students

“Highly Recommended”

“I am very pleased with my 6 year old daughter’s progress. Importantly, she remains genuinely interested in learning and still finds the piano fun – which is a testament to Nicolette’s teaching methods and manner.

Nicolette is calm, considered, firm but always kind. She mixes up playing pieces with bits of fun theory and even writing mini tunes – all of which I’m sure has helped my daughter not only learn the notes but also begin to appreciate musical ‘building blocks’
